History

The pedigree of the Albrecht family in Seefeld goes back to 1750, but the history of the "Krumers" begins with the marriage of Alois Albrecht I. with "Nanni" Rantner in 1893 and the opening of a grocer´s store at the present location of the hotel. From socks to sugar the "Krumers" offered all necessary things for daily life in Seefeld. The business grew rapidly - until the outbreak of the First World War, where Alois had to go to the front in South Tyrol and the shop was empty for some time. After returning from the war Alois Albrecht I. reopened his shop and his son Alois Albrecht II. helped his father to bring the operation back to success.

At this time Seefeld experienced also the first upswing as tourist destination before the outbreak of the second World War II. was the next setback. It should then take up the early fifties until the business of the Albrechts again boomed. Meanwhile Alois Albrecht III. was also active in the business and opened the restaurant "Seefelder Stube" right next to the hotel. When the Seefeld region won the bid for the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 together with Innsbruck, it was the Albrechts which transformed the center of Seefeld in a shopper's paradise. With 405 square meters the largest grocery store of Tyrol was opened at that time and, moreover, a textile trade which flourished dazzling. The tireless work and the everlasting "customer service" gave the Albrecht family a tremendous reputation in the region.

It was in 1988 when the Albrecht family - already Alois Albrecht IV. - decided to buy the adjacent "Hotel Post" entering in the hospitality industry. The aging hotel was totally renovated and completed in 1991. At that time the shops were still attached were leased or operated himself. The Hotel Post has quickly become one of the top names in the tourist region of Seefeld and the guests appreciated the friendliness and service of the family-run business.

In 2010 the Albrecht family invested in a spacious spa area on 4 floors. It was Alois Albrecht V. who remembered the time of the founding as a "grocer´s family" and decided to rename the name of the hotel in "Krumers Post Hotel & SPA". The logo with the "shopkeeper" who is pilling his trolley, is to revive old traditions and ensure that what the Albrecht family for five generations is standing for: First-class service and a unique offer for its guests.
